This is the outcome of a couple days of drawing, and has just been handed over to David Waters so that he can work his magic. 14″x25″

she came from the sea
this week
I’ve scattered my energies in a number of different directions, partly perhaps in an attempt to distract myself from a run of rather bad luck this week. Ah well, here’s what I have: This first piece is for the t-shirt competition sponsored by mini-space forLife Ball 2009 – an aids awareness benefit extravanganza hosted in Austria; how cool is that? The deadline for submission is June 30th, so if you want to participate, there’s still time! Anywho, the theme is “water,” with the tagline “let love flow,” so naturally… a pair of amorous mer-people!
(Wish me luck!) Also, I know I’ve been on a bit of a t-shirt kick, so here’s the next, a design for the Linton Music Festival, a free annual music bash put on in Linton, Indiana. This contest had some tight constraints: the file needed to be in vector with no more than two spot colors. I spent some frustrated time in the library with Adobe Illustrator before I finally found out how to turn a scanned drawing into a vector object (object>live trace>make).
(In the end I went with the mint green on a light brown background).
apparently…
I’m the only one in the world unaware of threadless.com until about a week ago… sad news for someone who calls herself an “illustrator”. Anyway, so it’s new to me, and I decided that I would design myself some T-shirts, if for nothing more, a good exercise.
