Modern Myths for Cool Kids

ImageI was recently invited to illustrate some poems for London based poet Shane Solanki, here are three from his current collection Modern Myths for Cool Kids. So sweet! ImageImage

Headers lately

Somehow recently I’ve been drawing up lots of blog headers, for lovely ladies all over the world! They are lots of fun to do, and I owe google translate big time for some of our conversations! If you are in nead of a blog header design, hit me up – I’d love to work with you! Here are the most recent ones:

mari bw

Que Mundo é Esse? – Vantagens (e desvantagens) de virar gente grande {What World is This? – Vantages (and disadvantages) of growing up – written by Mari Hallak, who lives in Brazil.

l&l 3

Labcoats and Liabilities – About the lives of a Certified Public Accoutant, a med student and their cat.

celi - facebook family

Not exactly a blog header, but rather a Facebook cover picture for Celi of Nova Vida, Vida Nova, she’s from Brazil, and lives with her family in Germany.

karine header bw

Ká.Entre.Nós A blog written by Karine about her family living in Ireland (she’s also transplanted from Brazil!)

lace blog headerThis one is for Sonia, for her yet-to-be-created Etsy shop, Libelinea (translated, sounds like the word for dragonfly)! Stay tuned.

Besides blog headers, I’ve been busy with some tattoo designs (you’ll have to wait to see the finished results!), and today broke out the sculpey and crafted some little clay girls, and started some acrylic paintings on black paper. Feeling super crafty!

Another start

Another drawing started – such a test of patience working on this hair! If only I’d paid more attention at art school, instead of spending so much time just looking at art. Working with layers of pencil and sumi ink on this one. Using a flat, dry brush seems to help, adding texture without trying to go in and draw each individual hair.

Also thinking of how nice it would be if I could grow out my hair for once. I’m tired of looking like a boy, for now.
