I just found out I’ll be participating what sounds to be an awesome first Friday Artwalk up in the Santa Fe district of Denver this weekend. I have four 4’x8′ walls to fill, so I’m working on some new work to put in the show.
Last week I found myself in Kozo Fine Art Materials on south Broadway, and thought I stumbled into heaven. A tiny, hole-in-the-wall store packed floor to ceiling with an incredible assortment of paper – printmaking, textured, printed, handmade, imported – bookbinding supplies, brushes, sumi blocks, ceramic inkwells, drafting materials, and did I mention… paper? I managed to tear away with only an armload of Stonehenge and a couple sheets of sheer, patterned rice paper. (Yay!)
So, I used half of one sheet of cool gray Stonehenge for this Centipede drawing, drawing with pencil, watercolor and sumi ink. It will be framed and up this first Friday art walk!
