EtsyRAIN Handmade Holiday Show + Black Friday/Cyber Monday!

Happy early Thanksgiving, everyone! I’m super excited for Thursday, spending time with family and basically being a glutton. Also, excited for Friday and Saturday as I’ll be at McCaw Hall in Seattle Center at this year’s EtsyRAIN Handmade Holiday Show! This will be their biggest show ever, with over 100 awesome etsy sellers. If you live nearby, do consider coming by and supporting your local artists! Each day the first 100 visiters will receive a free swag bag full of some serious goodies, and there will be beer/wine. Come on. You know you want to! 🙂

Here are some of the amazingly pretty things you’ll find (click to go to the treasury). There will be booths with candy, jewelry, bath products, clothing, bags, accessories, toys, candles, pet goodies, paper goods, and of course – lots of art! I plan on doing most of my holiday shopping locally, and this is the place to go to stock up! is also having some sales going on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday, as a way to thank all yous-guys for allowing me to support my art habit day-in and day-out. This is one of my favorite times of year, taking the time to pick out special little gifts for all of my favorite people.

Friday: 20% off everything! Just use coupon code: “YAY2012” – use it yourself, or share with friends! This is a great way to save on original artwork, batches of cards to keep or give, T-shirts or totes!

Monday: Free worldwide shipping! Use code: “SHIP2012” – this is a great deal for everyone, but a special thank you for all my international friends – I know shipping costs can get hefty (flying around the world will do that) – so Monday, no matter which time zone you’re in – get your goodies shipped free!

Alright, goodnight/goodmorning, everyone!

Upcoming Holiday markets!

Getting excited for this weekend because of the Bizarre Bazaar! Saturday from 2-6pm, at Om Culture located at 2210 N Pacific St., Seattle, it’s going to be awesome. I’ll be sharing a booth with my friends Amber Rothrock and Greg Colligan. Get Ready!

The weekend after this will be the Punk Rock Flea Market! Amber will be with me again, as will amazing papercut-and-jewelry artist Anya of Papercut works, among many amazing local artists.

Today and Tomorrow

This evening I’ll have a little booth in the LAST Issaquah First Friday Art Walk! It sounds like it’s going to be huge; it runs from 5-8pm, and I’ll be outside Stan’s BBQ at 58 Front St. N.

Tomorrow, Saturday, 9-3: I’ll be at the Century Ballroom Flea Market, 915 E. Pine St., Seattle, 2nd floor, from 11am-3pm. This one sounds like it’s mostly vintage, there is one other painter – so it will be lots of fun to look around.

Here’s another little drawing:

Have a beautiful weekend!

Seattle Square Market! And Shrinky Dink process

The Seattle Square Market starts tomorrow night! A craft-flea-vintage-food-extravaganza that will be happening throughout the summer on every non-first Thursday. I’ll be there tomorrow, from 4-9pm, at my booth with octopus-girl necklaces and greeting cards. Also make sure to see Ania’s beautiful work, as she will be there as well. 🙂

As I’ve been doing so much shrinky-dinking, I thought I’d post some process pictures:

First, pencil sketch: notice it’s on a full sheet of 8.5×11″ paper – the largest I can go with the shrinkable sheets that I have!

Next, it is traced directly onto the plastic sheet with sharpie:

Here’s the finished cut out piece, ready for the oven:

…And mid-bake, warping like crazy:

And the finished product!
