A bevy of new Prints – and my new printer!

A simple pencil and ink drawing, without too much fluff: “Little Rapunzel (before the haircut)”

ImageI loooooove my new printer! These photos are of a print (available here!) I created from the original drawing – and it measures 11x17in, not even as large as the printer can go!

I procrastinated for a long time before deciding on the right printer to buy, mostly because of being just overwhelmed by all the ratings and reviews and specs and all that, but I finally decided on an Epson Stylus Photo R2000. I wanted a large format, but can’t yet afford those massive, amazing five-foot-wide bad boys. This one prints up to 13in wide x 44in long! Also, I was looking for an archival printer. This one uses Epson UltraChrome Hi-Gloss 2 pigment ink – eight cartridges, two blacks and a gloss for photo printing. The prints are purportedly water, fade- and light-resistant to 120+ years! So cool.ย

“Double Amputee”

“Flower Face” as an 8×10″ print – the blacks and so rich I think I could eat them right off the paper.Image

and “Foraging” (plus my freshly washed face)Image

Okay! That’s about it for now. Ohmygoodness, I’m so happy that it’s March, and spring is right around the corner. I do love winter, but I am so ready for Spring. How about you? How are you spending your weekend?

  1. Stasia, I really love your art! I discovered your post a couple of weeks ago and can’t stop admiring your illustrations. I’ll be writing to you soon, I would love it if you could design a tattoo for me. ๐Ÿ™‚
    Regards from Spain.

  2. My printer just died and I couldn’t find an A4 one that was just as good as my old one. So when I saw your post and the quality of your new prints, it cemented my decision to get the R2000 ๐Ÿ™‚ I just wish printers in Australia were as cheap as the US!
