Giveaway! Crafty book: Shrink! Shrank! Shrunk!

Yay!! Who wants free stuff? Crafty free stuff? Book-ish free stuff?

I have an extra copy of the book: “Shrink! Shrank! Shrunk!” by Kathy Sheldon, published by Lark Crafts, that needs a home! This book is a handy guide to making your own shrinky-dink jewelry, with over 30 unique projects created by 16 different artists (of which I am one!).

Artists featured: Jodie Anna, Elizabeth Baddeley, Anna Boksenbaum, Tamara Berb, Stasia Burrington (that’s me!), Heather Davidson, Jalene Hernández, Cathe Holden, Dana Holscher, Erin Inglis, Donna Mallard, Tonia MO, Jessica Poundstone, Stacey Rawlings, Cynthia Shaffer and Morgan Shooter.

By next week I will mail out this book along with two pieces of shrinky-dink plastic to one lucky person! How can it be you? Simply leave a comment here with the craziest thing you can think of that you would make/do with a piece of shrinky dink plastic, along with the best way to reach you. Anyone can enter.

On Friday, Oct. 12th I’ll pick a random winner! Good luck, and happy weekend!

  1. The craziest thing I would make? I would love to make one of those layered tiny canvases and each layer is a new drawing- like looking through a shadow box, but layers of plastic. There would be different elements and characters on each level.

  2. So many things I could make… I’d probably start of by making one of my drawings into a necklace or something. Then maybe do one of my dog. So many possibilities. Great giveaway!

  3. It isn’t terribly crazy but one thing I would do with shrinky-dink plastic is make Christmas/Solstice ornaments for my tree. It is my favourite time of year, and not too far off! I’ve just moved to a new town and until I start working I will have lots of time for craftiness. Your pieces look lovely in the book! : )
The best way to reach me is my email: christine.bluemoon at the g-mail.

  4. I would love to win this book, it seems amazing, thanks for this giveaway.
Not so crazy but i will write some funny quotes on it to add to pictures of my family (like on comic books you see) to make some framed christmas presents.

  5. Fun a contest!
hummm ……..Ive been leaving lil sticky note doodles all over my house and work for others or for others to find latter, it would be fun to spice things up with lil shrink y dink monsters… or animals….llamas yes llamas would be perfect…left places for others to find;)

Best way to reach me is my email or threw etsy

  6. If I could figure out how to make shrinky-dink jewelry like yours, I would make a pair of earrings. One would be a girl all curled up and napping, the other would be a boy with his hands cupped around his mouth, as if he’s shouting through your ear to the other side of your head to wake her up! ❤

  7. That looks like an awesome book! I make jewelry from small drawings and watercolors, and I’ve been trying to find different ways to create work at different price points or that is less time/labor intensive. What I do now needs several layers of sealant, and then several layers of resin. A few months ago I started looking into shrinky dinks as an option and did a little experimenting, but it was right before my wedding and I had to set the project aside.

Now, it’s something that I want to look into again, but I still don’t have a lot of time to devote to projects that may not pan out. I’m trying to apply to grad school but also need to get ready for winter craft shows. So it’s not particularly crazy, but I’d love the chance to read up on some tried & true techniques and see what kind of cool things you and others have done with the material! 😀

contact: email’s just fine, if it doesn’t show up here it’s on my site,

  8. I would make a bunch of necklaces of my own doodles but I would also make a wiener dog ring (like the unicorn ring pictured) for my auntie. I was in love with shrinky dink as a kid and as an adult I think it would be the perfect medium for my art. I also would love to see how you made you projects!

  9. I would make mini replicas of all my pets! I have a Quaker, a Lovebird, a Maltese x Shih Tzu, a Miniature Poodle and a Turtle. I would be one of those weird people that wear things that have pictures of their pets on them, but mine would be better because they will be like mini versions of my babies!

Ooooo and I could make jewellery with cockroaches, spiders and flies. All those creepy things lol
